Don't Give theIf you know anything about the civil wars fought in the early history of this country, you know that children were taught the lesson of kill or be killed. Today if our government needed more ground troops for an American offensive, began a campaign to lower the draft age to include children as young as ten years, and our children could be soon in the fields again learning to kill or be killed, would you vote for or against?
The question is moot, is it not? Of course we would all fight in defense of our children not being drafted even at the age of eighteen. Actually what age could we live moment to moment expecting to be killed or waiting with gun in hand to kill and return to our homes the same personable 'life is good' individual we were before we went off to battle?
Remember this the day some self-proclaimed expert in dog training or a 'behaviorist' encourages you to begin any form of aggressive enhancement in a dog who is not yet a mature, well-mannered adult. Do not destroy your chances of enjoying a great Dobe because someone wanted to boost their yearly income. Work toward the single goal of excellence, period. Our recommendation is to wait until a Dobe is eighteen months before considering protection work and while you wait, educate. Then send the 'kid' off to Camp Hoytt to learn defense as a skill. Let's keep the guns out of the kid's hands.
