Boarding services are available to all Hoytt Dobes and non-Hoytt Dobes if the non-Hoytt resides in the same household as the Hoytt Dobe; otherwise, no non-Hoytt Dobes are offered these services at the House of Hoytt. programs are available to all Hoytt Dobes tailored to meet your needs. Consider a brush-up program while your Dobe is boarding with us.
PICK UP SERVICE
... Things happen that are called accidents for a reason. Should the owner of a
Hoytt Dobe find themselves in a spot and can't get back to their home or need
the Dobe or Dobes cared for and do not want to board them at a local kennel, dog
sitter or clinic...call us; we should be able to send a handler or driver. We
also regularly will meet an established client at a halfway point to return their Hoytt Dobe
or to bring it back to the kennel of services.
Our last call for this type of assistance came at 10 a.m. on a Monday, the owner of a pair of Hoytt Dobes had to enter the hospital early
the next morning and her husband was out of the country.
Within two hours our driver was on his way. The trip one way was just short of
800 miles and at 2 am the next morning our driver called to say he was on his
way back. The Dobes were laying on their beds surrounded by their toys and a
stretch away from food and water. No cages, no pens, just out for a ride with
someone they knew from their initial development here. We are pleased to say
that the pair will be heading back home in time for Thanksgiving with their
family.
So when thinking about the fun of having a litter, first think about the
inherent unknowns, then how one finds buyers who are truly ready to become
parents. Rescue is full of dogs of every breed sold or given to people who were
not ready to become parents to a dog, people who saw only the cute puppy and
never took the time to realize that 'cute pup' quickly turns into a
independently thinking creature that must be cared for, educated and loved 24
hours a day for eight to sixteen years after placement.
In effect, we are ready to assist our clients should they choose to breed, but
advise them to start securing homes for the pups one heat cycle before the
mating. This is one of the best ways to protect the pups from an impulse buyer.
It also gives the future owner a chance to research vets in their area and ready
themselves for parenthood.
Of course we offer contact breeding, meaning we offer to cover all expenses and
still write a check for the right to breed. These contacts, by the way, include
the bitch whelping under our care, her pre and post whelping vet fees, all
costs related to protecting the mother, stud fee, every cent necessary to bring
the pups through weaning, which comes at about seven weeks of age. After that, the
medical completion services you've read about in this presentation begin and the
owner of the female is assured that each of their little ones will only go to
the kind of homes they themselves have given their Hoytt Dobe.
The Hoytts are always
ready to discuss a contract arrangement, but this is not done as other breeders
do. We do not exchange future litters for the first time buyer of a Hoytt Dobe.
Too many folks simply can't afford to own a dog and a free ride initially just
gets the dog and the owners in trouble later on.
Note: The House of Hoytt is in effect a service organization. Feel free to
ask for any type of service that you may be interested in but has not been
presented.
TO THE NON-HOYTT DOBE OWNER - Please do not feel slighted that we only serve our own. We are
after all in part a breeding kennel and thus would be putting our youngest Dobes in jeopardy
by allowing dogs we know nothing about to enter the kennel. After all, viruses as well as bacterial
infections are carried by both dog and man.
We only allow visitors to view the pups (all are welcome
to mingle with our young adults and personal adults)
through windowed areas or video camera that give full view of the whelping and
puppy area.
Now, restricting dogs not known
to us and not allowing the handling of the very young by the 'shopper' are just two more way of assuring the overall well-being of our Dobes.
But if you have reserved a pup and wish to visit with it, by all means come spend
a day or two - we believe these folks will be sure they do not bring anything
unwanted into the kennel since their dogs safety is on the line.

DOOR TO DOOR DELIVERY AVAILABLE
... for those interested in driver delivery of their new Hoytt Dobe. We can arrange this at times at a cost lower than airlines fees. Great option in effect from our house to yours. For 2010 we are expanding the service to the west coast as well as Vancouver to Newfoundland all points in between. Mr. Hoytt will discuss the pros and cons with you but there is no down side if your budget allows the investment - educated Dobes travel as the two described in our PICK-UP SERVICE.Note you do not have to wait for other Hoytt Dobes to be set for delivery in your direction to request this service.
Two weeks pass. Looks like you can finally break away. A call to the kennel finds that two days before the Dobe you were interested in was sold to another who simply followed instructions and reserved the dog by phone. You are not happy about this. You decide that there will never be another Doberman as fine as the one you just lost. Years later you will still be referred to by acquaintances as the person who almost owned a great Hoytt Dobe.
Okay, I admit this is a bit of an exaggeration but just in case your workload does not allow you to grab the next flight out or jump in the car to cruise over, but one of our young adults or one of the 'family' in our latest Special Offering caught your eye, give us a call; we may just be able to come to you*.
| * This program is offered as a convenience for the client. It is a service for those who find this personal delivery cost-effective by saving the client time away from home and occupation...average distance traveled 1000 miles...average cost $500.00 |
On the other hand, if you send us one of those disposable cameras we will ask the Dobe's trainer to take informal photos, and your camera will be returned to you for development and printing. The only charge from the kennel will be $15.00 for each camera to cover return postage and the handler's time.

VIDEO PRESENTATION SPECIAL OFFERING
Every so often we offer what is called our Special Offering Video followed by a number; as of this writing we are preparing number nineteen of the series. In this video any available developing Hoytt Dobes and pre-owned Hoytt Dobes are presented along with some of our more recent placements for further study. The pricing of these Dobes are so varied that we cannot in this presentation or even on the video itself state the price at the time of the introduction for the new developing Dobes since they could be into another step of their training by the time you view the video.
As to the Pre-owned Hoytt Dobes, the Dobe who may have been placed new but taken back within a few months of original placement, will be discounted by 20% off its original price. The Dobe owned longer than a few months but still in its prime could be available at a discount as great as 50%. The Dobe who is over three years of age may be available at an even greater discount. If you find a pre-owned Dobe you like, presume nothing regarding price; pick up the phone and call us.
